Toyota Motor Europe will start production of a hybrid transaxle in 2018 at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Poland (TMMP) in Walbrzych, and add two gasoline engines—a 1.5L in 2017 and a 2.0L in 2019—at Toyota Motor Industries, Poland (TMIP) in Jelcz-Laskowice. Hybrid is a key differentiator for Toyota in Europe.

Solaris will supply seven Urbino 12 series-hybrid buses to Z?bkowice skie, Poland by 31 July 2020. The seven 12-meter buses feature a series-hybrid drive consisting of a 120 kW electric motor and a 151 kW diesel engine meeting the highly restrictive Euro 6 standards.
