Petrobras awards Technip/DOF Subsea JV ~$3.5bn in contracts for four new pipelay support vessels; ultra-deep water capabilities

Two of the vessels, of VARD 3 05 design, will be delivered in 2Q 2016 and 3Q 2016 respectively. The hulls of these vessels will be built at Vard Tulcea in Romania and outfitted at Vard Søviknes in Norway. Delivery of the PLSVs is scheduled for 2016-2017.

NuScale Power receives US NRC design approval for small modular reactor

NuScale’s DCA was completed in December 2016 and accepted by the NRC in March 2017. NuScale has signed agreements with entities in the US, Canada, Romania, the Czech Republic, and Jordan. This is what DOE’s SMR Program was created to do, and our success is credited to strong bipartisan support from Congress.

European car market logs best year for alternative fueled vehicles, lowest diesel share since 2001

Poland, Slovakia, Luxembourg and Lithuania all posted record levels of volume, while it was the best year since 2007 for Spain and Estonia, and the best year since 2008 for Romania, Hungary, Croatia and Latvia. In contrast, it was the worst year for registrations in Switzerland since 2010, the UK since 2013, and Norway since 2014.
