EPA announced the awardees at the 2016 American Trucking Association’s Annual Management Conference & Exhibition in Las Vegas, Nevada. Since 2004, SmartWay Partners have avoided emitting more than 72 million metric tons of carbon pollution, while saving more than 170 million barrels of oil and $24.9 Mercury Services, Inc.

Soot particles from oil and wood heating systems as well as road traffic can pollute the air in Europe on a much larger scale than previously assumed. Aerosol particles in the atmosphere affect global climate, human health and ecosystems. Carbon in particles larger than 400 nanometers is relatively old and comes from distant sources.
