will spend an estimated ¥20-30 billion (US$207-310 million) to boost production capacity for lithium-ion batteries for hybrid light-duty vehicles, targeting a 70-fold increase by 2015. In addition to significant improvements in output density, they are half the weight and size of conventional nickel-metal hydride offerings.
