Now in its fourth year on the market, the 2013 Honda Insight has never quite lived up to the legacy left by its ground-breaking 1999 predecessor--even if it's now a much more usable vehicle. Sales have been much lower than Honda expected, and the Insight remains a niche player in the market.

And with poor sales and Toyota's Prius C now on the market as a head-to-head rival, the Honda Insight can definitely consider itself a follower. That's a shame, for those who remember the original Honda Insight. Some lead, others follow.

The Honda Civic is a renowned gas-sipper in the compact car market and the latest iteration of the hybrid model is no exception. For 2015, the Civic Hybrid continues the 2014 car''s gas mileage of 45 mpg combined (44 mpg city, 47 mpg highway), itself an improvement on the 2013 model''s 44 mpg all-round.

I thought my 2013 C-MAX would be a Prius Killer? I have been accused of not knowing how to drive hybrid. For the record, during the last three years I have leased both a 2010 Prius and 2010 Honda Insight Hybrid, and consider myself an experienced hyper-miler. As a returning Ford buyer I feel deceived.

Japanese carmaker Honda has made a huge announcement with just two weeks left before the Beijing International Auto Show – by declaring it will introduce three new hybrid cars in the China region. In total, Honda will introduce more than 10 new and full model change Honda models over three years – from 2013-2015.
