Ford Motor Company and Azure Dynamics Corporation have signed a collaborative agreement to begin delivering a pure battery electric version of the Ford Transit Connect van to customers in Europe beginning in late summer 2011. Repair works under the Ford warranty will be provided by Ford dealers.

Ford plans to close the two facilities in the UK in 2013. Manufacture of Transit will be consolidated in Ford’s principal commercial vehicle manufacturing facility operated by Ford Otosan in Kocaeli, Turkey, in 2013. UK operations will remain a Ford center of excellence for powertrain development and production.

I used an electric car for 8 years from 2013 to 2021. I got an electric car - the Mahindra e2o, back in 2013. Electric Scooter prices are competitive compared to petrol scooters. And if you are spending more than 10 lakhs on a petrol or diesel car, you need to get your head examined or read up on EV's. I work from home.

Other detail changes from 6th April 2011 include: Drivers of Euro IV diesel cars registered before the 1st January 2006 are currently taxed at the same percentage rate as drivers of cars fitted with a petrol engine. Duty will rise by 2p per litre on 1st September 2009 and by 1p per litre in real terms on 1st April each year from 2010 to 2013.

They will buy a car and rent or lease the battery and the cost of leasing the battery will be the same as, or less than, the cost theyre paying today for petrol. Daimler/Mercedes Took over Daimler/Chrysler Sprinter PHEV program.
