In 2012, Audi entered into a collaboration with Joule for the direct production of e-ethanol and e-diesel hydrocarbons (n-alkanes) from photosynthetic cyanobacteria. The automobile industry already invests in the production of CO 2 -neutral synthetic fuels. The card is used to centrally record the amount of gas consumed.
