Also hopefully by the end of 2011 (when the Model S car is due) our economy has recovered somewhat. PHEVs/EREVs can fill the gap and provide a cheaper alternative to BEVs until battery prices decline enough to take out the ICE. EVs are as good as a technology as any of the others to support. A 10% credit, up to a maximum of $4,000, for the cost of converting any motor vehicle into a qualified PHEV.
