I met with Preeti Gupta, a freelancer with the BBC. Ola was founded in 2011 by Bhavesh, a Punju from Ludhiana, who is married to Rajlakshmi, a Tam Brahm. The original idea was three wheeler rickshaw battery swapping. The initial Idea was to have a 70-30 gender split, but then Bhavesh asked why not a 100 percent female workforce?

Sure, if you need to make lots of long trips in a car, and can only afford to have one car, then probably a Tesla’s not for you.
