The 2010 HS 250h, Lexus’ first dedicated hybrid and the fourth offering in its lineup ( earlier post ), will carry an MSRP for the standard version of $34,200, while the Premium model will carry an MSRP of $36,970. The HS 250h has the best combined EPA mpg rating of any luxury vehicle in the US.

Audi announced pricing for the 2010 A3 TDI, its second US clean diesel offering launched this year. Audi notes that the Lexus HS 250h offers similar combined fuel economy with hybrid technology (EPA estimated 35/34 mpg US city/highway) but not the highway mileage range. Ford notes that the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid’s projected fuel economy tops its nearest competitor—the 2010 Lexus HS 250h—by 6 mpg, while providing room for one more passenger and more standard luxury and segment-exclusive safety features. The combined gasoline engine and electric motor provide 191 net horsepower (142 kW).
