President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America, Kjell Gruner, has left the company. The former Porsche AG chief marketing officer took the wheel to oversee our region less than three years ago and has reportedly made an abrupt exodus.& Gruner joined Porsche in 1999 from Boston Consulting Group.

Michael Mauer will lead Group Design in addition to his present function at Porsche. He has been Head of the Design Department at Porsche AG since 2004 and was also given responsibility for styling the 2007 Porsche Cayenne, the Panamera and the 918 Spyder. Wolfram Thomas takes charge of Group Production.

Mitsubishi i-MiEV – from $12,000 2010 Mitsubishi i-MiEV. These tiny i-MiEVs were the first EVs on sale in Australia in 2010. We found only four for sale, with $28,880 for a 190km range 2014 60Ah version with 100,000km the cheapest. A piece of history? BMW i3 – from $28,000 2020 BMW i3s EV.

Other positive sales trends from 2021 include: Nissan LEAF: First launched in the US in December 2010, the iconic LEAF saw a 49% increase in sales versus 2020, and 78% in Q4 versus Q3 of 2021. Audi e-tron GT: A competitor to the Tesla Model S, the e-tron GT had a 65% increase in Q4 over Q3, its first quarter for sale in the US.
