Toyota followed with the Prius a year later, but it took GM until 2006 to introduce its first true gasoline-electric hybrid here. That car was the 2007 Saturn Vue Green Line, and I managed to find one in a Denver-area car graveyard recently. In fact, fuel prices went insane right around the time that review was written.

During this same time GM created Saturn , a totally new brand, which arrived in 1990 with its own showrooms, advertising and vehicles. For our discussion, Saturn dealers were the delivery and service point for GM’s aborted first electric car, the EV1. Some people (by design) probably never knew it was a GM brand. GM is producing 2 vehicles a day with the goal of having a total of 76 vehicles available by the end of the summer; these vehicles will be used for validation testing ranging from fit and finish reviews, to durability testing to eventual crash testing.
