Thanks in large part to Mayor "Red Ken" Livingstone, who enacted London's much criticized congestion charge policy in 2003. Mitsubishi could be the first with cars for sale if the UK distributor has its way. London could soon replace California as the electric car capital of the world.

Founded in 2003, Silicon Valley based Tesla Motors is currently the only car manufacturer in the US or Europe manufacturing and selling highway capable electric vehicles in serial production. It accelerates from 0-60mph in a mere 3.9seconds, and, according to Tesla’s analysis, is ‘twice as efficient’ as the Toyota Prius. Tesla Motors.

I wish the thing was for sale as-is. Well they did give brief bursts of acceleration through the parking lot to show that it does have some Roadster goodness to it. But yes, there was no slalom to see how it handles the twisties. It is probably a real rocket compared to the Daimler version that will eventually show up. Follow us on Twitter!
