In May 2000, Austin Energy planned to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by 40% at its Decker and Holly power plants, from 1700 tons per year to less than 1000tpy by 2003. Nuclear waste is a problem much harder to solve than CO2, and dams have quite an impact in the environment.
