Toyota: When the Toyota Prius originally went on sale in 1997, it was the world’s first mass-produced hybrid car, meaning the Japanese automaker effectively stole a march on its rivals. The Think City was short-lived in the States with production halting in 2002 after just 1005 cars had been assembled. GM will leapfrog Toyota and Honda by providing an electric car to the masses by the end of next year. If the EV1 was viable (or even close) we would see Ford, Toyota, Honda, etc all with 80 mile cars right now.do In the meantime, Toyota and Honda will eat their lunch while GM pushes both E85 and pure electric. you see that?
