Our review of the not-so-much-smaller 2021 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid returned stellar fuel economy topping 50 miles per gallon. The staggered Pirelli P Zero (245/40 front and 275/40 rear) summer tires, mounted on 20-inch 5-spoke aluminum wheels, provided excellent grip, even when pushing to their limit on corners. Our extensive group test of sub-$80,000 EVs saw the Tesla Model 3 finish ahead of the Polestar (and Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5 ), but we declared it the “closest to a true luxury car here.”
