Nissan; the Pima Association of Governments ( PAG ), which represents the Tucson, Arizona region; and ECOtality are forming a partnership to promote the development of an electric vehicle (EV) charging network in the area. Nissan will introduce EVs in the United States in 2010 and will mass market EVs globally two years later.

In March, Nissan announced a similar partnership with ECOtality and the Pima Association of Governments, in the Tucson, Ariz., ECOtality plans to link the Phoenix and Tucson Metro areas by implementing strategic fast-charge stations along Interstate 10 (I-10) to create the first implementation of an EV Corridor in North America.

The Renault-Nissan Alliance, which says it aims to be the global leader in zero-emission mobility, will bring electric vehicles to China in early 2011, making China one of the first countries to be supplied with electric vehicles from the Alliance.
