Several global indicators on the supply of oil and the known carbon pollution environmental damages its caused all lead us to find cleaner ways of transportation. Today we could be using lead-acid EVs, lead-carbon-acid EVs, or nickel metal hydride or lithium-ion hybrids. They will not meet my needs.

One thing is for sure; - electric cars bring down the air pollution, but they sure create another waste pollution problem. at least, the recycling infrastructure for the well-established lead-acid batteries is robust. None of the new electric cars are planning to use old-tech lead acid batteries. In the U.S.

80 miles was the range of the EV1 with Lead Acid batteries, that GM tried to use because they wanted the project to fail. It had two seats, it used lead-acid batteries (because of cost and reliability, not because of your stupid pet conspiracy theory) until the very end, and had an impractically short range.
