Over the course of numerous tests of battery buses we were able to gain a valuable insight into their practical operation and implementation. Now, for the first time ever, we have a chance to test a hydrogen-powered Solaris bus. Pölten on 7 July 2020. The cooperation of the two firms started back in 2010.

Through the test process, Porsche intends for the three electric Boxsters to provide an initial insight into new electric drive components and battery systems for all-electric vehicles. The flywheel power storage system is recharged whenever the driver applies the brakes.

Instead of charging during peak times – before 10 am and after 4 pm, EV owners can be incentivized to charge during the very late nights/early mornings – 2 am-6 am, reducing congestion and power quality issues in the distribution grid. Smart energy management and smart EV charging are already established as solutions to address grid demands.
