They plan to ramp up the Group’s three business verticals – electric motorcycles (Tork Motors), power electronics, and ICE to EV conversion of commercial vehicles, and to kick off a new traction drives business vertical. He wants to make it easy with the Kalyani repowering kits. All of them have come under the Group inorganically.

If you build a car as a "kit car" with no real factory, then yes, it will never be an economic success. Yes GM will lose $ on the Volt, just like the first Insights or Priuss, but unlike Toyota or Honda, they just cant afford to wait for it to catch on and become profitable. The EV1s failure was a failure of Management.
