Lexus will bring the CT 200h premium compact hybrid to the US market in early 2011 as the first dedicated hybrid vehicle in the premium compact segment. The new CT 200h debuted at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show in early March and will join the HS 250h as Lexus’ second dedicated hybrid. Earlier post.).

Total combined Toyota and Lexus hybrid vehicle sales in the US have topped the one million mark, according to Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), USA. Overall, cumulative worldwide sales of Toyota and Lexus hybrids have exceeded 1.7 Toyota launched of the Prius in late 1997 in the Japan market, and in the US in July 2000.

The 2013 Lexus CT 200h may be in its third model year now, but it remains the only occupant of its particular niche: the luxury compact hybrid hatchback. It's the only compact car from the luxury brand, now that it has quietly killed the disappointing HS 250h hybrid sedan after three years on the market and very few sales.
