University of Houston. The University of Houston (UH) will develop a battery using a novel water-based, lithium-ion chemistry that makes use of sustainable, low-cost, high-energy, organic materials. BASF will develop metal hydride alloys using new, low cost metals for use in high-energy nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries.
