Porsche will unveil the Panamera S Hybrid, its second production hybrid model, later this year. L/100 km (35 mpg US) on the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC), making it the most fuel-efficient Porsche yet. The Porsche parallel full hybrid system also reduces consumption at high speeds via a “sailing” or coasting mode.

The green line reflects FEV’s 15% cost reduction for the power transmission/clutch/motor subsystems from 2010 to 2013, assuming that the same reductions are achieved in all parts of the hybrid system. This type of system uses a planetary gear to distribute power between the engine, generator, traction motor, and drivetrain.
