India-based Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M) M&M) is acquiring a majority share in REVA Electric Car Co Ltd. REVA Electric Car Co Ltd. will be renamed Mahindra REVA Electric Vehicle Co Ltd. In January 2010, the Chevrolet e-Spark premiered at the Delhi Auto Show, with GM India’s platform powered by REVA.

Going Green, doing business under the brand name “GoinGreen,” has sold more than 1400 G-Wiz electric vehicles, making it Europe’s largest single retailer of electric vehicles and generating annual revenues in excess of $1 million. GoinGreen has accumulated more than 60 million miles of electric vehicle user experience.

The car maker will develop the car in conjunction with Reva, the manufacturer of electric vehicles, best known for its G-Wiz models in the UK. General Motors India and Reva Electric Car Company announced today in New Delhi the signing of an agreement to cooperate in the development of electric vehicles for the India.

India's Reva was first into the market with the G-Wiz. And Tata Motors , an Indian industrial giant, is "working on an electric version of the Indica for the overseas market, slated to be launched by 2009," according to the Hindu Business Line. Its UK marketing plans are, however, unknown.
