Nissan NV200 NYC Taxi. The New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) has selected the Nissan NV200 as the exclusive taxi of New York City for a decade, beginning in late 2013. However, Nissan will be able to manufacture the NV200 to run on electric-only power starting in 2017.

A fleet of Nissan LEAF models assumed the role of London taxis last weekend, providing free taxi rides for many London residents and visitors to the capital. The stunt aimed to highlight how the fully-electric ‘taxi’ was six times cheaper to fuel than a conventional petrol-powered car.
