Mitsubishi i-MiEV – from $12,000 2010 Mitsubishi i-MiEV. These tiny i-MiEVs were the first EVs on sale in Australia in 2010. We found only four for sale, with $28,880 for a 190km range 2014 60Ah version with 100,000km the cheapest. A piece of history?

By comparison, the Nissan LEAF carries a 99 MPGe (combined) EPA rating, while the smaller i-MiEV carries a 112 MPGe (combined) rating. (1 Ford will also be introducing the C-MAX Hybrid and the C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrid—also to be built at Michigan Assembly— for sale in the second half of next year.

10:59AM (4/22/2009) I know it is a REALLY superficial criteria, but I love the paint scheme on the blue one pictured. Thats such a pretty metallic blue; I would love to see these postal vehicles around my neighborhood. I really hope Chrysler can pull themselves out of the fire. Looks sharp.

I regret that the powers that be in this field are still dicking around with figuring out plug uniformity standards (which they just established: woopee), when they should -- dare I say it -- look down the road and see the virtue of uniform replaceable battery packs and therefore set standards and mandate/encourage their use.
