The New York City Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), acting through the New York City Transit Authority (NYCT), will launch its electric bus test and evaluation program of five Xcelsior CHARGE battery-electric, forty-foot heavy-duty transit buses. The program will begin January 2018.

New Flyer of America Inc. announced that New Flyer Infrastructure Solutions ( earlier post ) has successfully deployed two rapid, OppCharge on-route chargers along New York City Transit Authority’s (NYCT) M42 route.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car is adding approximately 5,000 additional gas/electric hybrids to its nationwide fleet and designating nearly 80 rental locations across the country as “hybrid branches.” The new hybrids will be available in 24 major markets across the country, including the 10 busiest airports for business travelers in the United States.
