New York City is adding 70 electric vehicles to its fleet: 50 new Chevrolet Volts, 10 fully electric Ford Transit Connect cargo vans, and 10 new fully electric Navistar E-star utility trucks. The Administration is also working towards the use of electric vehicles in the City’s fleet of more than 13,000 yellow taxis.

American car giant Ford has finally come clean over its electric car plans with news of their developmental BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) car program announced at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Full electric conversions for the Ford Transit and Transit Connect light commercial vehicles are already available through Smith Electric Vehicles.
