Conversions are mostly for the Prius, with a few for the Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner hybrid SUVs. At these prices, people are buying the "environmental feature" -- they want to be among the first owners of the worlds cleanest extended-range vehicles. We believe both NiMH and Li-Ion are ready.

Fuel cell cars should be plug-in hybrids so that the fuel cell is used only for extended range, and the fuel cell stack and hydrogen storage can be smaller. Lithium-Ion batteries share many characteristics with NiMH. Ive heard lithium-ion batteries can be dangerous if they overheat.
