Kenworth Truck Company and Peterbilt Motor Company will expanding their alternative fuel line-up by offering the Cummins Westport ISX12 G heavy duty natural gas engine ( earlier post ) for use in regional haul, vocational and refuse markets. Peterbilt uses the ISL G and Westport GX engine. Next-generation Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks.

The state has recognized hydrogen-powered cars as part of its drive to zero-out tailpipe emissions (and the resulting dangerous smog) for three decades and helped support the development of vehicles and infrastructure. Through a chemical process, electricity is created to power the motor and (alternately) charge a lithium-ion battery.
