The proposed Keystone XL project consists of a 36-inch, 875-mile (1,408-kilometer) long pipeline and related facilities to transport up to 830,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil from the WCSB and the Bakken Shale Formation in Montana. The Governor of Nebraska approved the new route through Nebraska in January 2013.
