In my previous article, Proposed Changes to the Federal EV Tax Credit Passed by the House of Representatives , I outlined and analyzed 13 proposed changes to IRC 30D (federal EV tax credit). But all of these PHEVs have batteries of around 9 kWh and so they could easily be upgraded to 10 kWh to qualify for the tax credit.

Although the EPA has not as of this writing released the final fuel economy numbers for the US A3 e-tron, Filip Brabec, Director, Product Management, Audi of America, said that the figures will be around 83 to 86 MPGe combined (depending on the equipment level), with 35 to 39 mpg gasoline only and 16-17 miles of EV range. This increases maximum EPA-cycle range to 159 miles, up from the 126 miles Ford quoted at the time of the E-Transit’s 2022 launch. As with other Ford EVs, Tesla North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapters are now available , allowing E-Transit drivers to charge at compatible Tesla Supercharger stations.

Initially they might have been hard to take seriously as NACS wasn’t yet a real charging standard. Tesla wasn’t the only one, though.
