BASF is investing approximately €90 million (US114 million) in the first step to build a mobile emissions catalysts production facility in ?roda aw, Poland. The planned implementation of Euro 6 light duty and Euro VI heavy duty emissions regulations in Europe will drive an increased demand for advanced emissions control systems.

BASF has inaugurated its new production plant for mobile emissions catalysts in ?roda aw, Poland. The emissions catalysts produced there will be used by manufacturers of light duty gasoline vehicles and light and heavy duty diesel vehicles to meet more stringent Euro 6/VI emissions regulations.

The European Community’s air pollutant emission inventory report released by the European Environment Agency finds that in 2007, sulphur oxides (SO x ) emissions were down by 72 % from 1990 levels. EU-27 emissions of all four pollutants were lower in 2007 than in 2006.
