In 2009, the HS 250h, followed by the first luxury hybrid compact, the CT 200h, in 2011. The LC 500h will be available for sale in the spring of 2017.

Toyota has unveiled the Sai compact luxury hybrid sedan in Japan ( earlier post ); the vehicle, based on the platform used for the Lexus HS 250h ( earlier post ), is planned to go on sale in Japan on 7 December. LED headlights conserve electric power and consequently reduce power-generation requirements on the engine.
