Elektromotive will complete the installation of its 100th Elektrobay charging station in London by the end of next month. There are already 80 Elektrobays in operation in the Capital, with another 40 installed in various locations across the UK. Elektromotive installed its first unit in Westminster in 2006. The consortia will co-ordinate trials of approximately 340 electric vehicles and plug-in electric hybrid cars in London, Glasgow, North-East England, the West Midlands and Oxford. The Elektrobay is the only recharging station currently in widespread day-to-day use anywhere in the world.

The Alliance and Elektromotive signed a Memorandum of Understanding on studying ways to promote the use of electric vehicles and will share information on EV development and energy supply on a global scale. To date, it has installed more than 40 charging bays in London and a further 40 in other major UK cities.
