The two-mode plug-in hybrid technology that was originally supposed to appear in the Saturn VUE will now make its debut in a new Buick crossover vehicle in 2011. According to Tom Stephens, GM vice chairman of product development, the vehicle is capable of electric only propulsion for more than 10 miles at low speeds.

GM has announced plans for public sales in 2010, and almost every carmaker now says it will sell PHEVs or highway-speed battery electric vehicles (BEVs) sometime after 2010. Shifted earlier focus to all-electric Focus in 2011 with Magna. Plans Saturn Vue PHEV-10. Aims to get Saturn Vue on road in 2010; no production goal.

The Volt is, and always has been, more than than an electric car. GM will leapfrog Toyota and Honda by providing an electric car to the masses by the end of next year. I cant stand all these "GM killed the electric car" crap. Wired Home Subscribe Sections Cars 2.0 The Obama Administration doesnt understand that. you see that?
