For extended range I guess one could carry a fairly modest generator set in the trunk to avoid ever being stranded. No single vehicle does it all even in todays petrol world. use a long range solution. Motor Trend Magazine has extensive coverage of all cars online including road tests, free videos, buying guides, etc.
