EcoCAR 3 competition to use Chevy Camaro as base vehicle

General Motors is continuing its partnership with the US Department of Energy and Argonne National Laboratory for the EcoCAR 3 collegiate advanced vehicle technology competition. EcoCAR 3 challenges university students across North America to design, build and optimize eco-friendly powertrains over the course of the next four years.

Ohio State University Takes Top Spot at 2009 EcoCAR Competition with EREV Design

University students from The Ohio State University earned top honors at the 2009 finals of the EcoCAR : The NeXt Challenge competition in Toronto, Canada for their design of a Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV). The Ohio State’s design was powered by a 1.8-liter liter engine and fueled by E85 ethanol. Plug-in capability.
