The Tucson Fuel Cell is equipped with a Hyundai’s latest 100 kW fuel cell stack, coupled to a 100 kW, 221 lb-ft (300 N·m) electric induction motor, allowing it to reach a maximum speed 100 mph. Phase two further expands the program’s reach to Northern California, Washington D.C., DC-based hydrogen station.

Urban maglev should require a maximum speed of about 100 mph. Usually the vehicle must be equipped with wheels or other forms of support for takeoff and landing because an EDS levitation design will not operate at speeds below approximately 20 mph. Obtaining rights of way in an urban area will be very challenging.
