Just as conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) cars measure fuel by the gallon, EV owners measure their energy consumption in kWh. kWh tax begins on July 1, 2025.

On Montana’s 147,000 square miles of land, the state’s latest count of charging points was just 57, most of which were concentrated in towns and cities rather than along highways. It seems to be designed for self-driving travel.
