The total number of neighborhood electric vehicles (NEVs)—low-speed street-legal electric vehicles—on the world’s roadways will grow from 479,000 in 2011 to 695,000 by 2017, a 45% increase, according to a new forecast by Pike Research. I could drive a Class 8 truck over a light-duty charger, and it will activate one pad of that truck and still charge. We connect high-power communication lines into the DC charging system of the car. Overnight or deep-cycle discharge damages batteries, and high C rates degrade batteries because of the temperature created.
