Ford Motor Company announced the C-MAX Solar Energi Concept, a sun-powered hybrid vehicle that can deliver the efficiency of a plug-in hybrid without depending on the electric grid for recharging. Ford C-MAX Energi gets a combined EPA-estimated 108 MPGe city and 92 MPGe highway, for a combined 100 MPGe. and Georgia Tech.

Range and efficiency The 113kWh battery is estimated at 273 miles (440km) of range under the WLTP test cycle (or 329 miles on the WLTP city cycle), which tends to be more forgiving than the EPA cycle.
