That way you have a fair basis of comparison, you know, apples to apples and all that jazz. Blending the MPG of SUVs and small cars understates the real consumption and rewards automakers for building gas hogs and unsafe micro cars which makes people want to buy "safe" gas hogs. Haul or tow -- buy a Silverado.
