Next 10-UC Berkeley study suggests additional tax revenue or income-based rate structure to make electricity more affordable for Californians

Green Car Congress

What Californians pay is much higher than the true marginal cost of using electricity. This puts an unnecessary cost burden on low- and middle-income households as we transition to using clean electricity. —En Banc White Paper. California Hydrogen Business Council says a robust P2G RD&D program should be a priority for the state

Green Car Congress

The case for using Power-to-Gas solutions to store renewable energy is compelling for a number of important use cases, according to a new white paper released by the California Hydrogen Business Council (CHBC). Constraining storage solutions to “electricity-in, electricity-out” only will increase the cost of intermittency.

MECA report finds additional NOx emission reductions from new heavy-duty trucks achievable and cost-effective (corrected)

Green Car Congress

The estimated cost of engine efficiency and emission controls for a Class 8 tractor meeting these future NO x limits is estimated to add $1,500 to $2,000, or about 1%, to the cost of a model year 2027 truck. For a Class 8 tractor, these incremental improvements were estimated to add about 1% to the cost of a model year 2027 truck.

MECA report finds additional NOx emission reductions from new heavy-duty trucks achievable and cost-effective

Green Car Congress

While the cost of new heavy-duty trucks has increased at approximately 1% per year, the cost of emission controls has come down, representing a lower percentage of the cost of a new truck. Furthermore, catalyst development has produced higher activity catalysts that can provide higher NO x conversion with lower catalyst loading.
