Citroen is set to launch its own version of the electric car Mitsubishi iMiEV. The new Citroen C-Zero is developed in collaboration with the Japanese carmaker and like the iMiEV, the rebadged model operates on the same 64bhp lithium battery. The fully electric model produces 180Nm of torque available from 0 to 2,000rpm.

Dundee-based Axeon, Europe’s largest independent lithium-ion battery systems supplier, has received the nod to develop a high capacity battery system for the electric Citroen C1 ev’ie. The vehicle, which is manufactured by the UK-based Electric Car Corporation, has a range of more than 60 miles and a top speed of 60mph.

The new zero emission vehicle from Citroen - the C1 ev’ie - will feature in Green Motion’s fleet the company has announced. The car is based on the traditional Citroen C1 chassis and boasts a performance of up to 60mph with a range between 60 and 75 miles on a full charge.
