Purpose-built electric bikes and e-bike conversions using hub-motors are now commonplace. That got me thinking, how hard would it be, and how much would it cost, to do a simple conversion now? They’re a big improvement on the Ioniq 5’s slightly cheap looking and feeling doors. It’s superbly cosseting with barely any wind noise from this streamlined sedan. Safety kit for Australian Ioniq 6’s should match the range-topping Ioniq 5’s.

Furthermore, changing the battery pack on say a Toyota Prius often costs a fortune, at least in most European countries, so such cars better be VERY cheap, but they’re not. Wind, hydro, DC transmission lines, and smart grid electronics are also Portland strengths. — Larry 4.
