The F-T wax can be manufactured using renewable energy and any carbon-containing resources including biomass, CO 2 , natural gas, coal—and the resulting carbon residue from the hydrogen-depleted wax. Clearly, considerable engineering work is needed to adapt this laboratory discovery to large-scale hydrogen storage applications.
