The project will replace 190 older diesel school buses with hybrid electric school buses to be used in school districts throughout Kentucky. New vehicles to be deployed include 55 CNG vehicles, 363 propane vehicles, 89 hybrid electric vehicles, and 56 neighborhood electric vehicles. Total DOE award: $13,181,171. Southern CA Assoc.

A future HSR/IPR (high-speed rail/intercity passenger rail) network using new diesel or electric power can further enhance rail’s advantages. The report formalizes the identification of ten high-speed rail corridors as potential recipients of federal funding: California Corridor (Bay Area, Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Diego).
