BYD already sells electric buses in the US though its bus division, but they are also made in California in a factory employing 750 unionized workers. According to our EVAdoption research, as of January 1, 2022 there may be only four EVs (and possibly just two) for sale in the US that have final assembly in China.

I wish the thing was for sale as-is. Well they did give brief bursts of acceleration through the parking lot to show that it does have some Roadster goodness to it. But yes, there was no slalom to see how it handles the twisties. It is probably a real rocket compared to the Daimler version that will eventually show up. Follow us on Twitter!

The trouble is you then have to stop right away, which brings about some pretty strong regenerative braking action, something that Chrysler needs to work on before making the Circuit available for sale. In California, 20% of our electricity comes from zero CO2 renewables (sun, wind, geothermal), another 20% from zero CO2 hydro, and only 20.1%
