Batteries from electric bus route 55 in Gothenburg, Sweden are being used for solar energy storage in a second-life application. The reuse and recycling of batteries is a key issue as increasing numbers of cities plan transition to electrically powered transport. To store 50 hours of energy from a 1-megawatt power capacity wind turbine (50 megawatt-hours), for example, a possible solution would be to buy traditional batteries with 50 megawatt-hours of energy storage, but they would come with 50 megawatts of power capacity. You could theoretically put this on any node on the grid.

Buy-down incentives totaling $560,000 were approved for 35 alternative-fuel propane vehicles. They are available only for new natural gas and propane vehicles that meet all California Air Resources Board emission requirements. Currently, these powertrains are primarily installed in shuttle buses and delivery trucks.

Can these things add up to make a car that people want to buy? It seems like it still may be cheaper to just buy a well used Lotus Elise and modify it yourself. I think electric cars are the furture and this unit has some real world experience. I also think it will be cheap, which is why I think someone will buy the group.
